Museum audience engagement work involves constant interaction with diverse visitor groups and situations, which can also lead to challenging encounters. What experiences have others had? How were they resolved? And how can these situations be processed so they don’t linger or cause long-term stress?

The seminar will share experiences and explore ways to address challenging situations through presentations, warm-up practical exercises, and forum theatre. Forum theatre is a participatory and interactive method where participants can try different approaches to challenging customer interactions. The audience is not just spectators—they can influence the course of the performance, suggest solutions, and even take on roles. This offers a unique opportunity to practice real-life scenarios and develop customer service skills in a safe and supportive environment. The forum theatre segment is organized in collaboration with Theatre ILMI Ö.

Pedaali’s activities are funded by a general grant from the Finnish Heritage Agency.
