Ilona – The Finnish Theatre Performance Database
Ilona is a Finnish theatre performance database maintained in collaboration between the Theatre Museum and the Theatre Info Finland. Ilona serves not only producers, archivists, and researchers in the theatre field but also a wide range of other information seekers. The continuously updated Ilona database includes professional theatre performances from the 19th century to the present day with certain limitations.
In Ilona, you can search for information about a specific play, its various productions in Finland, the production team involved or other information presented in the programme leaflet. Basic information about performances includes the title, playwright, performing theatre, premiere date, performance periods, number of performances, and audience figures.
Theatre Museum’s Collection Management System Spotti
In the collection management system Spotti, you can search for information about the museum’s collections: objects, archives, photographs, audio and video recordings, and the reference library. In Spotti, you can search directly for a specific material type, such as photographs or objects, or perform free-text searches across all materials. Searches can be made using, for example, a person’s name, a theatre, or a work title. With advanced search, you can combine and refine search criteria, for example, search by performance title and limit the results to costume sketches. Spotti can be used in the Theatre Museum’s research room, and guidance is available if needed.
The Spotti system is based on Yksa, developed by Disec Oy for museums.
